Registering a Society in Singapore



Registering a society in Singapore is a straightforward process that can be completed online. The Registry of Societies (ROS) is the government agency responsible for registering societies in Singapore. To register a society, you will need to submit an application form, along with the required supporting documents.


Eligibility


To be eligible to register a society, it must meet the following criteria:

  • It must be a non-profit organization.

  • It must have at least 10 members.

  • It must have a written constitution that sets out its objectives, powers, and rules of governance.

Registration Process


The registration process can be completed online through ROS's electronic government service portal, ROSES. To register a society, you will need to create an account on ROSES and then follow the steps below:

  4. Verify the application using your SingPass or iROSES account.

Automatic Registration

  • Have a written constitution that meets ROS's requirements.

  • Have a registered office in Singapore.

  • Have not been previously dissolved or deregistered.


Other Requirements


In addition to the above requirements, societies must also comply with the following:

  • They must keep proper records of their activities and finances.

  • They must hold an annual general meeting.

  • They must submit an annual return to ROS.
